1841, 1 March: He received a Ticket of Leave. 1845: His Free Certificate was issued (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-20$init=CON31-1-20p157).


1831: He was tried at the Epiphany Sessions at Bristol and sentenced to death commuted to 14 years' transportation for robbery (see England & Wales, Criminal Registers, 1791-1892; England, Gloucestershire 1831). VDL Conduct Record: In his own words, he was transported for assaulting and stealing from the person 9 pounds in gold, 20 sovereigns and 20 pounds in silver - highway robbery. His VDL record lists him as single. He was granted a Free Certificate No.883 in 1845 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-20$init=CON31-1-20p157).
