Thomas Hill was tried at Dorchester, Dorset on 13 March 1783 for stealing a silver watch with a value of 20 shillings. He was sentenced to transportation for 7 years and left England on the Friendship aged about 28 at that time (May 1787). His occupation was listed as leather breeches maker.
Report from Dunkirk hulk was “in general tolerably well behaved but troublesome at times”.On 12 February 1788 received a sentence of 8 days in irons on bread and water for theft of biscuit from another convict.
