Committed to the Castle: ...— Committed to the Castle: Joseph Harmer and Jonathan Hipper, (by (by the Hon. J. Wodehouse and the Rev. W. F. Wilkinson,) charged with stealing an ass from John Gotts, of East Ruston; -- Bury and Norwich Post, 30 Dec 1829.
Jonathan Hipper, of East Ruston, was committed to the county gaol, charged with stealing three donkies, all of which had been traced to all of which had been traced to his possession. There is a fourth, a white mare donkey, in the possession of Singleton, the Mayor's Officer, for which no owner has yet been found, and which also supposed to have been stolen. Norfolk Chronicle, 24 Sept 1831. Norfolk Sessions …. Jon. Hipper, indicted on four charges of ass-stealing; … were sentenced to be transported for life. Bury and Norwich Post, 26 October 1831.
