John Hugh was convicted at Glamorgan for riotious behaviour (beginning to demolish a house). 1st conviction. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'London' arriving 1844. N.B. Not to be confused with "John Hughes" who was also convicted of this offence and also transported on same ship. Aged 26yrs; married - wife Susannah, 1 child; farm labourer/ploughman; reads; Protestant; 5'6" fresh complexion; black hair Hazel eyes. Brothers: Daniel & David Sisters: Hannah, Rachael, Sarah, Charlotte & Nancy. Native Place: Carmarthan Station Gang: Maria Island (off the east coast of Tasmania) 1 year. Emerged 05/08/1845. Assignments at Pittwater. Ticket of Leave 11/01/1848 Free Certificate 26/11/1850
