Harriet Hussey was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 28th Mar 1840 and arriving 13th Jul 1840 with 214 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Harriet Hussey was 22 years old and was transported for "Pledging stolen goods. Harriet was 4'11 3/4" tall, fair complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, eyebrows meeting, 2 moles on right cheekbone, large nose, can read. 1841: Admitted to Newcastle gaol. 25/6/1842: Admitted to Newcastle Gaol, no offence, returned to the Government. 17/8/1844: TOL, Patrick Plains. Married John Logan, (can't be definite on which one) - Had a son Matthew born 1851-1899, he married Mary Hickey at Forbes in 1876.
