Thomas Jackson was transported on the Marion, departing 30th Oct 1851 and arriving 30th Jan 1852 with 281 passengers.
Built 1834 at Calcutta. Wood ship of 684 Tons. The 1847/48 voyage sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) BUT also went on to Port Phillip Bay, Victoria where 300 exiles disembarked. (The newspaper source says they were from Millbank, Pentonville & Parkhurst prisons.)

Married Elizabeth AYERS after previous husband (convict George SHARMAN) was declared deceased 1869. Children from first marriage took on JACKSON surname. Thomas and Elizabeth had 6 children, one dying as infant. Thomas was a brick maker and supplied at least some of the bricks to build the Perth Town Hall.
