NEWSPAPER report of the trial: 20 July, 1843 -- Bradford Observer, p7: "BEFORE MR. JUSTICE CRESSWELL. George Leathley, who had pleaded guilty to a charge of horse-stealing at Leeds; and Valentine Ackroyd and Henry Jagger, for a highway robbery at Northowram, were sentenced to be transported for life." (https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/) [Northowram is a village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England that stands to the east of Halifax on the north side of Shibden valley. It's about 5 miles south-west of Bradford.] Note: Valentine Ackroyd was also aboard the Blundell.
