Windsor. SATURDAY, MAY 26.-Charles Jepson and John Davis were brought, before the Court, charged that they had stolen a bag and a quantity of wheat contained therein. One observed them with the wheat and bag. The bag was identified by a second witness. The prisoners had but little to say by way of defence. Sentence, each to a penal settlement for the term of three years. Sydney Gazette, 11 Jun 1827. ---------------------------------------------------- Moreton Bay Records. Charles Jepson, per Albion, Tried at York Ass 18 Mar 1826 for sheep-stealing, 14 years, labourer. Colonial sentence: Tried at Gen Sessions, Windsor, 26 May 1827 for theft- 3 years. Ran 12 June 1828, Ret. 18 Jun 1828. Sent back to Sydney 20 June 1830.
