John Johnson was tranferred as a convict to Norfolk Island, likely aboard the Lady Nelson in Oct 1801.

Male convict John Johnston (sic) appears in the Norfolk Island Victualling book 9 Jan 1802 departing from stores 16 Jul 1802.

From 4 Feb 1804 John Johnson is recorded as a Free Man from sentence expired, on stores.

Still on the island, John Johnston departed the stores for the final time 23 Jul 1808.

He left Norfolk Island, on embarkation due to the closure of the Colony, to the Derwent River (Hobart Town) aboard the City of Edinburgh in Sept 1808 as an individual holding no land.

He is recorded in the following musters in VDL
1811: Abode - Hobart, Arr - Cornwallis, Trialed - March 1800, Liecester 7 years (sic)
1818: Hobart, off stores, Earl Cornwallis, Lancaster 1800 7 years (sic)
1822: Free by Servitude, Hobart, Earl Cornwallis 1801, 7 years, Leicester 1800 (sic)

The death of John Johnson recorded at Westbury, Tasmania 26 Jul 1856, labourer aged 76 may well be him.

Death in 1803 seems more likely as daughter was born in Parramatta in the same year.
