Married at St George's Anglican Church Battery Point on 28 Feb 1853 to Isabella Buchanan. Also a convict arrived on Dr Vincent as Isobel Buchan. William Johnston/Johnstone died on 19 September 1863 at his home Hill Street Hobart. Had 4 children William Johnston 8/3/1853, Jessie Jane Johnston 15/3/1856, James Johnstone 8/7/1858, George Alfred Johnstone 6/5/1861. James, William and Jessie were all in the Queens Orphan School as William had a long illness. Son William Johnstone pegged Comet Silver Mine in Zeehan late 1800's. William and was born in Ayrshire Scotland, but tried in England at the Old Bailey. Owned skilling and ground in Hill St from 1858 until his death when it passed to his wife. Unknown place of burial.
