Gee was found in the stable of the Black Swan public house, Spalding, with some of the stolen property. He had broken in through the dairy after Collins' wife and daughters had left the house to go gleaning. He was sent to the Millbank Prison, London, before transportation




Robert Gee (proper name John Jones) was convicted at Lincoln on 18/10/1843 for housebreaking. 10 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Marion', arriving 16/09/1845. The Conduct record states his proper name was "John Jones". b. abt 1819, Longdon, Staffordshire. Father: William Mother: Patience Sister: Eliza (source - indent page 48/49) 5'8 1/2"; wheelwright; single; Protestant; right leg stiff (walks lame).
