Robert arrived in NSW on SCARBOROUGH in 1790-although one reference records him as arriving on ACTIVE in 1792; these two have similar histories.
He married Elizabeth (Goldsmith) (she had had 3children with William (Rayner) beforehand still with her) convict 7yrs from LADY JULIANA on Norfolk Island.
With Elizabeth (Goldsmith) he had 3children:
Elizabeth (Jones) was born in 1798 on Norfolk Island; she was baptised age6 on Norfolk Island in 1804.
Mary (Jones) was born in 1799 on Norfolk Island; she was baptised age4 on Norfolk Island in 1804 also.
James (Jones) was born in 1800 on Norfolk Island.
Robert may have had family also with Catherine (Simms) & Elizabeth (Pickering).
he seems to have been an assistant to Superintendant of Police at Port Jackson with meritorious service.
A Robert (Jones) died in 1818 age83.
Elizabeth (Goldsmith) has an entry on this Website.
