William Jones - 23 May 1833 - Hanged at Sydney for highway robbery on the Liverpool Road. The Sydney Herald. Thu 16 May 1833. Page 3. LAW INTELLIGENCE. Patrick Nangle, Robert Mullen, and William Jones, were jointly indicted for a highway robbery, putting in bodily fear A. H. Jacques, and stealing from his person a watch, a comb, a pencil case, three one pound notes, five dollars, eight half crowns, twenty shillings, and twenty sixpences, at Sydney, on the 1st April. This case was most satisfactory brought home to the prisoners, who were found Guilty, and sentence of death was passed upon them by the learned Judge, and no hope held out to them of mercy. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/12846825?searchTerm=executed william jones
