The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. The Convict Indentures state that Catherine Kelly was 0years old. She could neither read or write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of County Galway, Ireland. She was a kitchen maid. Catherine was convicted of stealing money, assault and robbery on 30 July 1838 at Galway and sentenced to 10 years transportation. She had one prior conviction for which she served 5 months. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 9 1/2 inches; ruddy, freckled and pock pitted; hair light sandy and eyes grey. Transport number 152. Prisoner number 150-39.
