Irish Convict Database by Peter Mayberry. Thomas Kelly, age 13. per Hive (2) 1835, Tried Limerick City. 1835, 7 years, for Stealing wool. Native of Limerick Co. DOB 1822. Single, Errand boy. Remark – Iron gang. -------------------------------------------------- Thomas Kelly was again convicted at Berrima in 1845, and sentenced to 15 years transportation to a penal colony. He was sent to VDL per Wanderer, arriving 8 Dec 1845. -------------------------------------------------- Berrima Circuit Court. Patrick Keenan, Thomas Kelly, and Emanuel Carrier, all of Goulburn were indicted for having, on the 19th February last, assaulted one Bartholomew Sullivan, at the River Station at Mummell, and burglariously entered a dwelling house, the property of Mr. George Hobbler, with intent to rob the same. The jury returned a verdict of guilty against Kelly and Keenan, each of whom was sentenced to be transported for fifteen years. Carrier was acquitted.
