High Court Of Justiciary.  Ann Young, or Sim, and Mary Lament, or M'Callum, after a short but clear proof, were found guilty of stealing a cheese from  the shop of Francis Mitchell, Cowgate: the former was known to the Police as a thief for ten, and the latter for eight years. They were sentenced to be transported for fourteen years  The Scotsman, 31 May 1826.
