Mary LEHANE was convicted at Cork, Ireland in 1830 for vagrancy. One previous conviction. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the ship 'Palambam' arriving 1831. Married woman, a widow, with 5 children. Aged 50 yrs; Roman Catholic. Native place of birth: Cork, Ireland. Daughter Catherine Lehane, aged 20yrs, also convicted for vagrancy and transported with her mother on this voyage. Son Timothy Lehan (Leshan) had been transported abt 6 yrs prior. Upon arrival in NSW Mary was considered unfit for service work.
