At Beccles Sessions, on Monday sennight. Sir S. Gooch, Bart, the Chair, Stephen List and William Chambers, convicted of stealing geese, the property Mr. Woods, of Darsham, were sentenced to transported for seven years. Norfolk Chronicle, 27 October 1827. Stephen List, aged 21, and William Chambers, aged 28, were convicted of stealing 14 geese, the property of Mr. Woods, of Darsham, and both sentenced to 7 years transportation. Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): Requests that prisoner's sentence is recommended for a pardon so that he can testify against John Day and Noah Whidby who are charged along with the prisoner of a series of more serious offences.
