Convict By Whom Ceremony was preformed; W Bedford John Logan - 25 February 1825 - Hanged at Hobart for attempted shooting murder of William Shoobridge. The victim was saved because the bullet struck a ruler in his pocket. John Loggan. Ship; Countess of Harcourt. Trial; Middlesex G. D. - 6 December 1820 - Live Noted in red against name; EXECUTED Conduct Record; No; 170. Name; Jno. Leggan. Trial; 6 December 1820 - Live 1822 - 17 Aug. Constable / Assault. Cutting and Maiming Jno. McKenna & stealing 14/ from his person. Sent to Macquarie Harbour for remainder of his original sentence 1823 - 17 Nov. Behaved orderly in Prison Mother at 9 New Street, Cloth Fair, named Legans. Takes in washing 1820 - Old Bailey Proceedings Online, December 1820, trial of JOHN LOGGAN. Born; 1798 Imprisoned; 1820. Age; 22 JOHN LOGGAN, Theft > shoplifting, 6th December 1820. 172. JOHN LOGGAN was indicted for stealing, on the 2d of December , one cheese, value 30 s., the goods of James Arkell , privately in his shop . MARGARET ARKELL. I am the wife of James Arkell , who keeps a cheesemonger's shop , in Queen-street, Commercial-road . On the 2d of December, about ten o'clock I called my boy in and in a few minutes after I heard a noise, went out and missed a cheese from near the door. I heard a cry of Stop thief! and saw Porter rolling the cheese to the door. In a few minutes the prisoner was brought back. BENJAMIN PORTER . On the 2d of December I saw the prisoner lurking about, and saw him take the cheese. I stopped him with it, and brought him back. WILLIAM CARTER . I saw him take it. I pursued and caught him a hundred yards off. (Property produced and sworn to.) GUILTY . Aged 22. Transported for Seven Years . Second Middlesex Jury, before Mr. Recorder.
