John was arrested and convicted as John Mackram. He was 20 years old, 5'7" tall, brown hair, fresh complexion. John was born at Huntingdonshire and his father and mother were at Eaton Socon, Bedfordshire, when he was convicted. Tasmanian Convict Records list him as John Mackrain. 17/5/1843: CP 2/10/1843: Married Mary Ann Thorpe (Majestic) and had 11 children - Listed as John Markham - children (some of which died in infancy) are listed as Markham. 24/5/1885: John died at Launceston.
