Alexander Maguire was 19 years old when transported for "stealing handkerchiefs and a pistol". He was single, and his native place was County Down. Alexander was 5'8 1/2" tall, ruddy complexion, black hair, dark hazel eyes, tattoos. 1842: TOL Muswellbrook 8/6/1844: TOL Passport, on recommendation of Commissioner of Crown Lands, New England. 1/5/1845: COF 15/3/1845: Married Eliza Haynes at Armidale, they had 5 children. Moved to Belfast (Port Fairy) Victoria 1866: Alexander died at Casterton, Victoria. Eliza Haynes was born C1823 in Cork, and died 10/9/1897 aged 74 and is buried at Nyah, Victoria. In 1869 she married John Bertram.
