The convict indentures state that Bridget Maher was 24 years old. She could neither read nor write; religion Roman Catholic; status single and a native of King’s County. She was a house and nursery maid. Bridget was convicted of receiving stolen potatoes at Westmeath on 23 June 1837 and sentenced to 7 years. She had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 4 feet 11 1/4 inches; complexion dark sallow; hair brown and eyes hazel. Transport number 76. Prisoner number 75-38.
Received her Certificate of Freedom in 1844 (number 44/1894).
