Convict Notes

Edmond Mahony, a mere boy, was indicted for stealing money, the property John Connors. It appeared that the prosecutor, who is a carman, was travelling with his horse and car the road, when the prisoner came up and joined him; they travelled on together until they came to a public house, where the prosecutor remained for the night; the prisoner took this opportunity of taking the money which was in two purses, from off the car; the next morning he was taken into custody on suspicion, when he confessed to the Bridewell-keeper. Cork Constitution, 5 Aug 1826.
