Cork Assizes Cornelius Manning for stealing a cow, the property of Daniel Murphy … guilty. His Lordship informed the prisoner, that if the Grand Jury that if the Grand Jury recommended him to mercy, his life should he spared, but on the condition that he should be transported for life. Clonmel Herald, 2 Sept 1829
