26/3/1836 The Ipswich Journal Suffolk, England:
Benjamin Abbott, (17), and Alfred Marriott, (23) were convicted of having, on the night of Friday, the 18th Dec. last, assaulted Mark Knevett, on the King’s Highway, at Eye, and with aving stolen a box from the siad Mark Knevett.__Mark Knevett is in Sir E. Kierrison’s service.
Benjamin Abbott arrived per ‘Charles Kerr’ 1837 to NSW.
Alfred Marriott was listed as 24 years old on arrival in VDL - he was born in Berry, St. Edmonds.
Occupations: Bricklayer/rough plasterer.
Alfred was 5’4¾” tall, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes.
Married with 2 children, Wife Sarah at Ipswich.
24/11/1837: Alfred Marriott died at H.M. Colonial Hospital, Hobart—aged 35 years??.
(Big discrepancy in the ages of Alfred - if he was 35, then born in 1802.)
