Arthur Martin Married Bridget Boyle and had at least two children before he was transported , James 1882 and Catherine1885. I changed the age from above because our family tree and his marriage cert.lost him as the above date,so he would have been in his thirties when he was transported

In the colony, Arthur had a long term relationship with Caroline Cochrane (nee Humphries). Caroline was the wife of George Cochrane (Convict, 1801, "Earl Coenwallis". She was possibly widowed around 1808 but no details have been located. Arthur and Caroline had several children, possibly as many as 8. Arthur and his family can be located in the 1828 census records. page 263.... [Ref M1918] Martin, Arthur, 54, conditional pardon, Cornwallis, 1792, life, Catholic, farmer, Harrington Street, Sydney. Arthur was a Catholic weaver/bleacher, an Irish rebel who was tried in 1794 in Dundalk, Louth and sentenced to transportation for life for stealing guns. He was transported aboard the ship Marquis Cornwallis and was described as age 25 on arrival in the colony. Arthur was convicted (along with John MAGINNES his accomplice) of forcibly entering the dwelling house of Rev. Moore SMITH of Killingcoole after sunset and before sunrise, and robbing him of two blunderbusses and two pistols. He was sentenced to be hanged but this was commuted to transportation for life.
