He became the first Detective in the NSW Police Force. He was recorded as a constable in 1825 with his wife. He was recorded as a police runner in 1829. He died on 4 7 1868 age about76 at the Asylum for the Destitute and Infirm LIverpool & was buried in the Jewish Section Rookwood Necropolis general cemetery Haslems Creek Sydney.
