1880, 14 September: A letter from the Police Department, Sydney, to the Principal Undersecretary reports on the deaths of two convicts in the period 1 January to 14 September 1880. One of them is:

“Ellen MARTIN per ‘Sarah and Elizabeth’ who died in the Lunatic Asylum at Parramatta, 29 February 1880” (see New South Wales, Australia, Convict Records, 1810-1891; Convicts Deaths, Annual Returns of Convicts Who Died, 1867-1891).
