Birth dates of 1819, 1821, and 1823 are listed for this man. Oliver was listed as 15 years old on arrival in NSW. He was born in Armagh County and his occupation was a “Trunkmaker/Errand Boy”. 1844: TOL Windsor 1844: COF 1846: Married Anne (Annie) Nichols/Nicholls. Annie was born in Sydney 9/5/1830 and died 31/1/1892. They had 6 children (listed on the NSW BDM). 1856: Oliver was a cabinet maker and upholsterer at West Maitland. 12/5/1860: Declared Insolvent – he was also an undertaker at this time. At the time of his death he was a Tobbaconist. 1/2/1892 Sydney Morning Herald: MAXWELL — January 31, 1892, at her residence, 10A Market-street, Sydney, Annie, wife of Oliver Maxwell, aged 64 years. 27/6/1894 Sydney Morning Herald: MAXWELL.—June 26 at his residence, 10 Market-street, Sydney, Oliver Maxwell, aged 75 years, beloved father of Frank Maxwell, of Darling-road, Balmain. 7/7/1894 Sydney Mail: MAXWELL. — June 26, at his residence, 10 Market-street, Sydney, Oliver Maxwell, aged 75 years. Oliver was buried at Rookwood Old Presbyterian Cemetery. Annie was buried with him.
