He was born in Armagh County and his occupation was a “Trunkmaker/Errand Boy”. 1844: TOL Windsor 1844: COF 1846: Married Anne (Annie) Nichols/Nicholls. Annie was born in Sydney 9/5/1830 and died 31/1/1892. They had 6 children (listed on the NSW BDM). 1856: Oliver was a cabinet maker and upholsterer at West Maitland. 12/5/1860: Declared Insolvent – he was also an undertaker at this time. At the time of his death he was a Tobbaconist. 1/2/1892 Sydney Morning Herald: MAXWELL — January 31, 1892, at her residence, 10A Market-street, Sydney, Annie, wife of Oliver Maxwell, aged 64 years. 27/6/1894 Sydney Morning Herald: MAXWELL.—June 26 at his residence, 10 Market-street, Sydney, Oliver Maxwell, aged 75 years, beloved father of Frank Maxwell, of Darling-road, Balmain. 7/7/1894 Sydney Mail: MAXWELL. — June 26, at his residence, 10 Market-street, Sydney, Oliver Maxwell, aged 75 years. Oliver was buried at Rookwood Old Presbyterian Cemetery. Annie was buried with him.
