Cornelius M'Auliffe, John M'Namara, Daniel Lyons, Patrick Burke, Patrick Keating, and Timothy Driscol. Were indicted for stealing 113 combs, the goods of Leahy. M'Auliffe, M'Namara, Lyons, and Burke, Guilty—Keating and Driscol, Not Guilty.— The four former - to be transported for seven years. Kerry Evening Post, 20 March 1833.




Queanbeyan Petty Session 11 Sep 1838: McAuliffe did not put his sheep in the fold but, contrary to Joseph Smith’s orders, brought them to the head station.(Smith,Speke 2, was overseer for Phelham Dutton, Wambrook, Monaro) The head station had diseased sheep and McAuliffe’s flock had “taken the catarrh in consequence of his neglect.” He also lied about needing new boots. In September 1838, Magistrate Faunce sentenced McAuliffe to 50 lashes.

Cornelius was illiterate, catholic, single, 5'6" tall, dark sallow complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, scar back of forefinger of left hand, scar cap of right knee. 8/4/1840: Apprehended after absconding from P. Dutton. 27/1/1843: COF - listed as 28.
