Note: There are two persons named Mary McCarthy on this voyage of the ‘Margaret’ 1838/39.

Mary McCARTHY was convicted at Cork, Ireland in 1837 for stealing watches. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to New South Wales, Australia per the ship ‘Margaret’.

Aged 19yrs; single woman; housemaid; Roman Catholic.
Native place of birth: Co. Kerry, Ireland.
