The Australian Convict Indentures states that Timothy McCarthy was 35 years old.  He was married with one child and could neither read or write; religion Roman Catholic and was a ploughman.  He was a native of Cork.  He was convicted of horse stealing (stealing mare) at Cork on 1 April 1828.  He was sentenced to life and had no prior convictions.  Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 9 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair black and bald and eyes brown.  Transport number 108.
Assigned to P. Webber, Parramatta River.
Received ticket of leave (number 33/358) and Certificate of Freedom (no. 35/498).
