Tyrone Assizes, Omagh,March 23. Patrick McRory, for stealing a horse, out of the stable of Andrew Gailey, the property of James Rankin. Andrew Gailey, examined Mr. Hopkins Lives at Crecvy remembers 7th Nov. last; the stable adjoining his house was broken open, and mare taken therefrom ; saw her again on Sunday the instant, the upper part of the county about 14 miles off; knows and identifies the prisoner, Paddy M‘Rory, who lives eleven or twelve miles from him ; James Brown had the horse in his possession when became up ; saw a man riding off with horse at distance ; James Brown was one of the party who were looking for the mare, and was on horseback with the police; witness was on foot; the mare belonged to James Rankin, his brother-in law, who lives in the lower part of the county Donegal ; had known the prisoner along time before ; he was often at his house. James Brown—Recollects the 8th Nov.; went with the police to search for the mare which was taken out of Mr. Galley’s stable;  nearly overtook M‘Rory that Sunday evening riding off on the mare on coming near to him, called out to him to stop, or he would shoot him, upon which M‘Rory leaped off the mare, and ran away; did not pursue him farther, but brought back the mare, and the police took possession of her; Andrew Gailey was there; the prisoner was the man who was riding away with the mare; identifies him; knew the mare to James Rankin’s  as he was the habit of bringing her to his brother in-law’s; saw her in Andrew Galley’s stable on the night of the 7th before she was taken; M‘Rory  was quite near when he called him. James Rankin —Is brother in law to Gailey; was at his house, and ... Londonderry Sentinel, 27 Mar 1830. ....
