Supreme Court. THURSDAY, JAN. 6. (Before the Chief Justice.) John Brackenbridge, Thomas M'Dermott, and Henry Kenny, were indicted for breaking and entering the warehouse of Mr. John Smith, and stealing therefrom 70 lbs. of tea, 50lbs. of sugar, 7 pairs of trowsers, 2 bottles, and 2 quarts of rum, his property, at Mainland, on the 24th October. The jury found the prisoners, Brackenridge and M'Dermott, guilty and acquitted Kenny, who was remanded, with the other prisoners, on the motion of the Crown Officer. Sydney Gazette, 8 Jan 1831. Thomas was tried at Sydney with John Brackenridge, who was also tried at Tyrone in March 1828, and who was transported also on the Fergusson.

Sydney 5 Feb 1831, for Stealing in a dwelling house, 7 years, Returned to Sydney, 28 Apr 1838. (illegible: Run 17, Returned 24 Dec 1832. Run 21 Feb, Returned 23d 1834.) Description: Thomas McDermott, Native place, Cavan, age 23, 5 ft 7ins; pale pock-pitted comp, brown hair, blue eyes, Catholic.
