That Petitioner shortly after his arrival had the misfortune to fal under the displeasure of Sir John Jamison, Knt. Who was pleased to send him to Newcastle for two years, where it has been his constant study to merit the favoura…. Of the Commandant and the persons in authority under him. That Petitioner during his sentence at Newcastle has been assigned to the Officers of the 48th Regiment whom he humbly hopes, can bear ample testimony of good conduct, having never been reported for the most trifling irregularity or breach of the Regulations at that Settlement. Petitioner therefore, most humbly throws himself upon your Excellency’s humane consideration to solicit the Indulgence of a Ticket of Leave for which he will as in duty bound Ever pray.
