Ann McKENZIE was convicted at the London Gaol Delivery 7 April 1825 for Larceny - stealing a piece of cotton material in a shop. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ship ‘Providence’ arriving there 1825.
Stated her sister Elizabeth McKenzie was in Sydney, a prisoner.
Colony of VDL:
23 April 1827 - absent from service. 3 mths to be confined at the Female Factory.
16 May 1828 - absent from service. Confined to cells 3 days and to be returned to her Master.
3 Jan 1829 - Mr. Harvey - disorderly at an Inn. Severely reprimanded.
13 Jan 1829 - Mr. Harvey - illegaly retail wine. Dismissed.
12 Feb 1829 - Mr. Harvey - drunk & disorderly. Reprimanded.
Ticket of Leave status granted.
April 1833: Drunk & disorderly. Fined 5/-.
17 Nov 1828 - Ann McKENZIE to William HARVEY at Church, New Norfolk, VDL. Residence - Clyde, New Norfolk district. (ref. 36/1/1 no. 1204)
