John McKillop was 20 years old on arrival in VDL and was transported for burglary & stealing wearing apparel'. Birth dates of 1826, 1823 and 1827 listed for John. Prior Convictions: housebreaking 15 mths acquitted; clothes acquitted, 2 mths; clothes 2 mths; fighting 1 mth, 10 days John was 5'5½" tall, sallow complexion, brown hair, small dark whiskers, light ?? eyes, single, literate, protestant. Native Place: Glasgow. Mother: Catherine Brothers: Archibald, (there was a Archibald McKillop who arrived per 'Lord Petre 1843' also tried in Glasgow, brother??), Duncan. Sister: Margaret. 20/5/1852: TOL 31/12/1852: TOL revoked - Indecent exposure of his person - 12 months hard labour. 22/8/1854: TOL restored. 24/4/1855: CP 15/5/1857: Free Certificate, Launceston. 3/5/1859: Married Catherine Hallinon, aged 21, a house servant, free - he was 32, a farm servant, free. Married at the Catholic church, Westbury. 6 children listed. 2/9/1879: John McKillop died at Launceston, aged 56 years of a Liver Complaint - listed as a Licensed Victualler. John died without leaving a will and all went to his wife, Catherine. They lived at Patersonia, near Launceston. Catherine died 27/2/1907 and in turn left everything to their son, also John McKillop who was a farmer at Patersonia.
