Charles Meyrick was transported on the Ann Or Anne, departing 31st Jul 1809 and arriving 27th Feb 1810 with 200 passengers.
1800/1810 Journey Ship Anne, Captain James Stewart. Left Cork 26 June 1800 with 147 men and 24 women. There was a mutiny on board on the 29th July 1800, but the ship’s company overcame the insurgents. The ringleader, Marcus Sheehy, confessed his guilt, and was immediately executed on board in the presence of all the convicts. Another convict, the leader on deck, Christopher Grogan, was sentenced to 250 lashes. The ship arrived at Port Jackson, New South Wales on 21 February 1801. He was tried for breaking & entering w/1other, on 30 6 1808?, musket gun etc of Thomas (Davis) at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 27 2 1810 after a voyage of 7months on ANN/E. She apparantly had a first relationship with Thomas (Shaw perhaps his second relationship). She was Free by Servitude by 1822. She is recorded in musters 1811-1825 as Free by Servitude wife of Thomas (Shaw) at Bringelly. She married Thomas (Shaw) on 22 12 1828 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He was tried at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to Life, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 5 4 1818 after a voyage of 6months on BATAVIA; he was Protestant; he was forwarded to Bathurst for distribution on 14 4 1818. On 15 5 1820 he accompanied J(ohn?) (Howe) on further exploration of Hunter River. On 16 10 1821 he was sent to Newcastle (possibly for bad behaviour) on ELIZABETH HENRIETTA, from where he escaped, was captured & sent to Port Macquarie on NEWCASTLE. On 22 11 1823 he was discharged at Emu Plains & sent to the Bench at Penrith. He was possibly sent back to Newcastle at this time, from where he escaped again, was captured, & sent again to Port Macquarie. He is recorded in 1828 as James (House) with his wife on 5acres at Head district. He may have produced 1child in his lifetime. JOHN SMITH and CHARLES MEYRICK, were indicted for burglariously breaking and entering the dwelling house of Thomas Davis, about the hour of 12 at night on 30th June, with intent to steal, and burglariously stealing therein a dial value 10s, two fowling pieces, value 20s, a musket, value 10s, a blunderbuss, value 5s, and six bottles of wine, value 30s, his property.
