George MITCHELL, and his brother Paddy, were convicted at Antrim, Ireland for highway robbery and stealing. 14yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen’s Land (Tasmania) per the ‘Isabella Watson’ arriving 3 Aug 1842.
Ship surgeon’s report: had been flogged for insolence and ironed.
Married man, wife Ellen.
Aged 22yrs. Roman Catholic
Native Place - Antrim, Ireland.
Sisters - Mary, Nancy & Peggy
