1837 - 23 May 1837. Trial. Offence; Breaking out of Gaol. Sentence to commence from 18 October 1836. Status; Married with 2 children. 1837 - 2 November 1837. received on board the prison hulk; Fortitude, moored at Chatham. Aged 34 years 1838 - 20 March 1838. Boarded the Bengal Merchant for N.S.W.




James Monk, aged 34, Convict; disease or hurt, typhus. Put on sick list, 20 May 1838, at sea. Died, 9 June 1838. He complained of frequent rigors alternated with increased heat and a restless night.
