Alexander Mooney was convicted at Londonderry on 8 April 1842 for stabbing a man with a fork. 7yr transportation sentence. To Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Kinear' 1842. Aged 21yrs; weaver; Roman Catholic. Native place - Co. Antrim. Married - wife Matilda at Co. Derry. Assignments in Colony. Ticket of Leave granted 22 Dec 1846.
