Tasmania Libraries online. Originally sent out for 7 years for assault with intent and escaped after 3 years and 7 months and went to Gibralter then to England. He was apprehended and sent back out for life. Married protestant. it seems he may have used his mothers maiden name to assist in his escape. Stayed on Layton along with 3 others to Sydney to be sent to Norfolk Island or some other Penal Settlement.
