NSW 1828 census Index. Patrick Moore, age 57, C.P.. Britannia, 1797, Life, catholic, at Pitt Street, Sydney. Has 280 acres of land, 30 which are cleared,16 acres cultivated. Has 5 horses and 43 head of horned cattle. Rose Moore, age 50, F.S. per Britannia, 1797, 7 years, catholic.




Dublin Evening Post Dublin, Republic of Ireland 14 May 1796: Patrick Moore, James Martin, Edward Gannon, Thomas Gaharty, and George Gray, wore capitally convicted for Defenders offences. Patrick Moore was listed as 26 years old on arrival - (Irish Convicts to NSW database states that his wife, 2 sons and 1 daughter were also onboard with him, however, Mary was born 1797, John born 1800 and Peter born 1801). Patrick Moore was a blacksmith at Parramatta. He was granted 60 acres in Botany Bay on August 25, 1812, and used the land for farming. He and wife Rose were among the first European families to live in and raise their children in Botany Bay. Patrick Moore, later became a founding member of St Mary's Cathedral. 29/9/1851: Patrick Moore died at Cook's River, NSW., aged 82. Rose Moore was born 1777 Meath, Ire., and died 11/11/1849 at Cook's River.
