1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

The convict indentures state that Henry Murphy was 19 years old. He could neither read or write; status single and a native of Dublin. He was an errand boy. Henry was convicted of stealing a shirt in Dublin City on 7 October 1835 and sentenced to 7 years. He had one prior conviction and served 6 months. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 2 inches; complexion dark ruddy; hair brown and eyes grey. Transport number 107. Prisoner number 36-1910. 1837 NSW General Muster stated that assigned to 1) Government in Sydney and 2) to Mr C. C. Fenton at Riverdale. Sydney, NSW Goal Description and Entrance Book states the entry number 1982 Henry Murphy on 28 November 1838 appeared before the Illawarra Bench by the Police. He was moved to Parramatta on 4 December 1838. One of the descriptions describes him as stout. Received Certificate of Freedom on 5 May 1845 (number 45/617) in district of Scone 19 May 1845.
