On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

New South Wales, Australia, Gaol Description and Entrance Books, 1818-1930 for Thos Myers Description Book Parramatta 1833 12/10/1833 for an iron gang for 12 months disposed to Liverpool gaol 3/6/1834 To the Hulk for transfer 12/9/1834 on board Phoenix Hulk originally convicted of street robbery. Convicted in Australia on 12/8/1834 of stabbing. originally sentenced to death but commuted to life in irons at Norfolk Island The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser (NSW : 1803 - 1842) Sat 9 Aug 1834 Page 2 SUPREME CRIMINAL COURT. Thomas Myers was convicted of maliciously stabbing Stephen Maypole with a knife in eight several places at Cox's River, where both the parties were employed in the stockade gang. One of the wounds the surgeon stated, that if it had been in the slightest degree deeper, would have been mortal. Sentence of death was passed on the prisoner. The Sydney Monitor (NSW : 1828 - 1838) Wed 10 Sep 1834 Page 3 The following prisoners have had their sentences commuted to transportation for life to a penal settlement; Patrick Ryan, John Murray, John Norton , William Fryer, George Bellingham, Thomas Myers, and Thomas Sterrick.
