1834 - Principal Superintendent of Convicts Office, Sydney 15th July 1834. The undermentioned Prisoners having absconded ................. Newton John, Mangles (6), 32-918, 21, Bristol, chemist, and confectioner, 5 feet 5½, ruddy and pockpitted comp. brown hair, chesnut eyes, wart middle finger right hand, wart inside right elbow, wart back of left hand from No. 5 Road Party, since 7 July. Second time of absconding.
