Criminal Petitions. HO 17/38/178. Date. 1838 Nov 5 – 1845 May 22. Prisoner name: Martin Noon the younger (Martin Noone). Prisoner occupation: Former private soldier 19th Regiment of Foot. Court and date of trial: General Court Martial, Dublin [Ireland], August 1838. Crime: Mutiny. Initial sentence: Transportation for life. Annotated (Outcome): 'Nil'. Petitioner(s): Sarah Noon (mother); Martin Noon the elder and Sarah Noon (parents). Grounds for clemency (Petition Details): His mother's grief; he was deranged through an impairment of the brain when he enlisted but from which he has since recovered.
