Samuel Norris was probably a brother of John Norris (Eden 1840), having been convicted at the same session of the Staffordshire Assizes (despite different father's name on his death certificate) Samuel arrived on the Eden in 1840 and was originally assigned to the Australian Agricultural Company in the Newcastle area. He was given a Ticket of Leave on 19th August 1846. Samuel married Harriet Austen at Bulwarra, Raymond Terrace on 10th May 1852. John and Mary Norris were witnesses.
