William North is buried in the grounds of St Lukes Church, Bothwell, Tasmania. His headstone states that he was 64 years of age when he died on 22 May 1871.

Convicted with his brothers Samuel North and Daniel North for "destroying a threshing-machine machine, property of Wm. Fullbrook of Hippenscombe".
